What Changed the Most during the Pandemic & Life Moving Forward

The Holt Xchange partnered with Territory, a visual design consultancy that works with leaders and teams on how to grow, transform and evolve their strategy, organizations, processes, and people.

We captured a sample from our advisors on WHAT CHANGED THE MOST during the pandemic and what life moving forward looks like: Professionally, Personally, Technologically and its Global impact.

Gaurav Bansal, Investment Lead & Program Manager at the Holt XChange summarizes the views as follow:

People experienced tremendous changes in their personal as well as professional lives.

On the personal side, people felt they become more productive as they saved time on the commute, however, they also experienced a slight overlap between personal and professional commitments which needed to be managed better. The long phase of no travel, no in-person events or conferences, or any personal interaction made it harder to build strong connections.

Many felt they got more time with family and video meetings often had lovely pets walking across the screen and yes the refrigerator felt closer than before, so easy access to more food. It was (or still is) certainly the era of ‘You are on mute’!

On the professional front, all businesses had to pivot to an online mode including work from home for employees and digital processes for customers. Many felt that employees are undergoing significant changes in both personal and professional lives thus employers need to be compassionate and the employees should reciprocate the same. Customers need to be served digitally, hence there is a need to have better platforms with quick onboarding, interactive UI/UX, quality customer support, high security, and compliance.

We at Holt also experienced a big change. We pivoted from an in-person investment and growth program to a 100% digital mode, making investments globally without even having the opportunity to meet the founders in person.
